    Obituary of Karen Lorraine Brenenstuhl
    10 November, 1947 – 9 January, 2023
    It is with great sadness that the family of Karen Brenenstuhl announce her passing after her second courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind her loving husband of 54 years, Allan Brenenstuhl, her beautiful daughter Patty, her son Robert (Cyndi) as well as four grandchildren who adore her, Amy, Megan, Colleen and Jonathan. She is also survived by her sister Laurana and her brother Bob (Allicia) as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other family members and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister Laurie.

    Karen was born to Lewis and Doris Homme and grew up and went to school in the Stony Plain area. In 1968 she graduated from the U of A Nursing School as an RN and spent most of her career working in labour and delivery at the Sturgeon Hospital in St. Albert. Karen was the matriarch that held us all together because nothing was as important to her as her family.

    Her family would like to express their sincere thanks to the volunteers and staff at the Pilgrims Hospice in Edmonton for the loving care they showed Karen in her final days.

    A memorial luncheon will be held in the spring of 2023. Cremation entrusted to Memories Funeral Home.

    Pretty Wedding At Stony Plain
    A pretty wedding took place here Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Heichen when their younger daughter, Doris Elizabeth, became the bride of Mr. Lewis Homme, son of Mr. and Mrs. Axel Homme, of Burtonsville, Alta. Ferns and delphiniums were used to decorate the drawing room. Rev. William Carmichael, of Edmonton, performed the ceremony.

    Entering the room to the strains of Lohengrin's wedding march, the bride wore a floor-length gown of white sheer made with a lace yoke and sleeves which tapered over the wrists. Her court-length veil was held in place with a tiny cap and a wreath of white daisies. She carried a sheaf bouquet of Regal lilies. A strand of pearls, a gift of the groom, was her only ornament.

    The bride's only sister. Miss Norma Heichen, was bridesmaid, wearing a white gown made with a basque lace bodice and a full net skirt skirt over taffeta. She carried a sheaf bouquet of blue delphinium and pink snapdragons.

    Mr. Edward Litzenberger was best man. During the signing of the register Mrs. Ralph Witherspoon sang "I Love You Truly."

    About 40 guests attended the wedding supper for which the bride's table was laid in linen and centred with a three-tiered wedding cake flanked by pastel shaded snapdragons.
    Mrs. Heichen, the bride's mother, wore navy blue and white with a corsage of salmon-pink gladioli.

    Following the reception Mr. and Mrs. Homme left on a motor trip through Banff and Jasper, the bride traveling in a black wool tailleur with white accessories.
