Lifetime Resident of Concord, 87, died October 10, 2011 in Concord. She was born on August 28, 1924 in Concord to Manuel and Rena Austi. Melvina worked for many years at George's Bank Laundry. Melvina enjoyed word search puzzles, game shows, watching sports, gardening and traveling. Above all she was dedicated to her family and had a great love of children and was a wonderful and caring mother and wife. Melvina is survived by her son, Michael Irigaray and grandchildren, Diana Tolbirt and Robin Chamness and great grandchildren Sean, Rachel, Abbye and Sara. Melvina was preceded in death by her late husbands, Jean Irigaray in 1978 and John Baie in 1998 and son, Louis Irigaray in 2009. Visitation will be at 5:00 to 8:00PM, Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Ouimet Bros. Concord Funeral Chapel, 4125 Clayton Road, Concord, CA. Funeral Services will be at 10AM, Friday, October 14, 2011 also at Ouimet Bros. Chapel. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Lafayette, CA. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc.
