Roger Gustav Dybdahl (1919-1972) - Santa Clara man dies when train hits auto (The Peninsula Times Tribune, Palo Alto, California, Tuesday, September 12, 1972).jpg Santa Clara man dies when train hits auto
SANTA CLARA—Roger G. Dybdahl, 53, suffered fatal injuries Monday afternoon when his auto was struck broadside by a Southern Pacific freight train at Chestnut and LaFayette Streets, just opposite Agnews State Hospital.
Dybdahl, of 4332 Davis St., was pronounced dead at the scene by Santa Clara County coroner’s officials.
Officer Paul Eaton said witnesses told him Dybdahl was traveling eastbound on Chestnut, and apparently pulled directly in front of the train, even though the train was sounding its whistle at the time. |
